Clinton Dentist Receives 2012 Mastership Award from
the Academy of General Dentistry
CHICAGO (June 29, 2012)—The Academy of General Dentistry (AGD), a professional association of more than 37,000 general dentists dedicated to providing quality dental care and oral health education to the public, is pleased to announce that Gary A. Groff, DDS, MAGD, of Clinton, MO, received the association’s 2012 Mastership Award during the AGD 2012 Annual Meeting & Exhibits, held June 21 to 24, in Philadelphia.
The Mastership Award is the highest honor available at the AGD and one of the most respected designations within the profession. To accomplish this goal, Dr. Groff completed 1,100 hours of continuing dental education.
As a recipient of the Mastership Award, Dr. Groff joins more than 2,300 active AGD Masters who understand that providing great smiles and good oral health for their patients are the result of going above and beyond basic requirements.
“We are proud to honor Dr. Groff for his commitment to continuing education in his quest to provide quality dental care and oral health education to his patients,” says AGD President Jeffrey M. Cole, DDS, MBA, FAGD. “There are more than 169,000 general dentists in the United States and Canada and less than two percent of those are Masters with the AGD. It’s a remarkable accomplishment for Dr. Groff.”
Dr. Groff graduated from UMKC in 1984 and currently practices dentistry in Clinton, MO. In addition to the AGD, Dr. Groff is a member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Greater Kansas City Dental Society, and the Heart of America Pankey/Dawson Study Club. Dr. Groff donates his time to the ADA’s Give Kids a Smile service project, as well as the “Missions of Mercy” events in both Missouri and Kansas. He serves on the Truman Lake Community Foundation board and actively supports Boy Scout Troop 430 in Clinton. Dr. Groff enjoys playing trumpet in the community bands in both Clinton and Warrensburg, and can often be seen running or biking on the Katy trail. He also likes mountain climbing, and has climbed 12 of the 54 recognized 14er’s (mountains with a peak over 14,000 feet) in Colorado.
Dr. Groff and his wife, Cindy, have 2 children, Duncan, who currently resides in Chicago, and Nolan, who is a sophomore at Kansas State University.
